Naples home sales continue upward climb

Naples area home resales climbed upward yet again in June, according to a report released Friday by the Naples Area Board of Realtors.

U.S. housing market index up Trade group’s number highest since September

The National Association of Home Builders says its housing market index climbed in July to the highest level in nearly a year, as low interest rates and other incentives helped builders woo homebuyers.

Lennar identifies 400 Florida homes with Chinese drywall

Lennar Homes has identified about 400 homes with Chinese drywall that were delivered in Florida, mainly in its 2006 and 2007 fiscal years, the company announced this afternoon in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

That represents 2.1 percent of the homes delivered in Florida and 0.5 percent nationally by the Miami-based builder.

IRS tax credit may ease defective drywall burden for homeowners

Florida homeowners who suffered property damage from drywall imported from China are eligible to receive thousands of dollars on their tax return, according to an announcement by the Internal Revenue Service.
