When looking at property to buy, either for your own residential purposes or for an additional income through rental, Southwest Florida is an inspired choice. You cannot beat its friendly atmosphere, beautiful scenery and balmy climate. With so much prime property on offer, it can be a daunting task to decide which area of this Floridian paradise to invest in. To prevent confusion it might be a good idea to narrow down your choices, maybe by first looking at different residential areas. And you could do a lot worse than taking a closer look at the beautiful city of Bonita Springs known as “The Gateway to the Gulf.” Of the many wonderful properties available here you’ll find exclusive gated communities, some with golf and tennis facilities.
There are family homes, beachside villas, some with private docking, and high-rise condos with fantastic view over the Gulf available. Viewing any of these sumptuous properties will truly show you what a great place Bonita Springs is to live. This lovely beachside community lays between Fort Myers and Naples on the Gulf coast and Estero Bay. It has a sub-tropical climate providing year round warmth and is a great choice for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits, with plentiful golf courses and tennis courts and fishing, sailing and swimming all available. Bonita Springs has miles of stunning beaches, just waiting to be explored. Stroll barefoot along the sugar sand, collect shells, or paddle in the warm sea.
The more adventurous can rent a jet ski, play volleyball or simply enjoy a relaxing swim. A key attraction in Bonita Springs is Lover’s Key State Park, an area made up of four barrier islands just north of Bonita Beach. Explore this unspoiled mangrove paradise on foot or by bike, then rent a canoe or kayak to take a closer look at the twisty inshore waterways, keeping a look out for the manatees and bottle nosed dolphins that swim there. Shopping lovers will also find Bonita Springs an ideal place to put down roots, with a variety of plentiful shops.
The fantastic Coconut Point Mall offers a shopping paradise, or head down to The Promenade on Bonita Bay to find high quality jewelry, craft, specialty shops and fashion boutiques. Bonita Springs also has a thriving arts scene and many community and family events running through the year. This weekend (March 29) sees the fifteenth annual Celebrate Bonita festival.
Mayor Ben Nelson describes the free event as, “a chance to come together as neighbors and friends and have a good time. People from all across the region can come and see what kind of hard work we’ve put in making Bonita Springs such a great place to live.” The Festival held in the city’s Riverside Park will feature children’s activities, arts and crafts, a chili cook-off and a parade by the Corvette Car Club.
Live entertainment will be provided by Florida native Easton Corbin, winner of three awards at the American Country Music awards in 2010, and the first male country artist to have consecutive singles reach number one on the Billboard Charts. Over 8,000 people are expected to attend the event. If you’re one of them, you may be bitten by the Bonita Springs bug, and decide not to leave this truly individual community.
