Culture Alive And Thriving In Bonita Springs

June 16th, 2014 by

Life in Bonita Springs is good – not only is there a wide choice of properties and friendly communities, fantastic weather and scenery, there are also great shopping and dining opportunities. Communities like Olde Cypress and Shadow Wood are some of the most gorgeous places to settle in the Bonita Springs area. Shadow Wood offers sumptuous family homes, villas and coach houses, nestled in a beautifully preserved natural environment to explore on foot or by bike.

Shadow Wood also has great leisure amenities and a private members’ club that includes a beach club, fitness center and restaurant. Olde Cypress, also in the Bonita Springs area, is a beautiful community, with homes built with glorious Spanish style architecture in mind. Living here also gives you access to a championship golf course, swimming pool and fitness center.

As well as sunshine and leisure there is also plenty of life enriching culture, both to observe and take part in, in Bonita Springs. So, if you’re looking for Southwest Florida real estate, you can be assured that you will not be moving to a cultural backwater. The arts scene in Bonita Springs is not only present, but thriving. The Center for the Arts, Bonita Springs, is a fantastic volunteer-led hub that makes the arts accessible for all ages.

The visual arts, theatre, music, films, sculpture and crafts are all here to be discovered. The Center brings the beauty and magic of the arts to the community not just by displaying it, but also by inviting the community in to play an active role in the creation of art. The Center runs numerous classes and workshops for all ages. The program includes a community theater; where members have the chance to create and perform in their own productions, dance classes, art classes and many more.

Community outreach is also central to the Art Center’s ethos, with volunteers frequently running after-school classes, Saturday activity days and children’s summer camps. There is always something interesting going on here, and this summer is no exception. Head down there for a look at the latest works of art. Running until June 26, there is the “Yes its Art, it’s for Sale and it’s a Landscape” exhibition. Artists have been asked to provide their own interpretation of the beauty of the natural world, scenic vistas and landscape subjects.

With breathtaking two and three-dimensional artworks that depict realist and visionary landscapes, this exhibition really makes you think about how we view the natural world. From July 11 pop into the Center to have a look at the “Moments” exhibition. Life is made up of little moments full of simple pleasures that can often pass by unnoticed, and this exhibition captures those moments on canvas, and it makes for some gorgeous paintings.

The opening reception starts at 6pm through to 8pm, and the paintings are on display until 24th July. Living in Southwest Florida means sights of natural beauty are part of your everyday life, and the theme of “Beauty” is explored in another great exhibition at the Center. From August 1 through to August 28th.
