Do You Love To Bike In Naples

Oh how we love cycling the streets of Naples Florida.

When we moved to Florida full time almost ten years ago, Paul and I became serious bikers cycling 1000’s of miles around the Southwest Florida area.  We love it!

The sun shines in Naples almost 365 days a year and the weather is always beautiful.

There is always somewhere new and exciting to ride.  With over 30 miles of bicycle pathways and a number of cycle friendly roadways Naples is a bike friendly community.

Each time the city builds or expands a road, they put in a bike lane.  This makes cycling safe and fun.

It’s easy to take your bike out of your garage and just head out into your neighborhood and surrounding communities to get in a good workout.  It’s also a great way to meet your neighbors.

If your more adventurous you might decide to put your bikes on the back of the car and head out to try something new.  There are ton of places to ride in Naples and the entire Southwest Florida area.

The Livingston Road corridor has amazing bike lanes on both sides of the road and is frequently traveled by cyclists.

You can literally ride from Naples to Estero and back on Livingstone Road.  Immokalee Road 41 and Pine Ridge Road all have bike lanes but they also have lots of traffic.  This may be more for the brave at heart.

Maybe you’d like a day of sightseeing on your bike.  Why not put your bikes in the car, head to downtown Naples, find a place to park, leave your car, and head out for a day of pure fun on your bike.

There is so much to see in Naples and what better way to experience Naples than on a bike.

Naples is full of waterfront homes with landscaping that feels like your in the botanical gardens.  Most of the main roads in downtown Naples are bike friendly and it’s easy to get around.

You can ride down through Port Royal and Aqualane Shores and be amazed at all the gorgeous real estate.  Stop on 5th Avenue for lunch and enjoy an hour of people watching.

Then head back out through Olde Naples for a delightful afternoon of enjoying cottage style architecture and the beautiful gulf waters.

If you’re looking for an absolutely stunning ride filled with some of the most amazing scenery, pack up your bikes and head to Sanibel.

You can ride from Sanibel to Captiva and back and most of it is along the stunning waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

It’s about a 30 mile ride.  Once you get to Captiva stop for lunch and a drink at one of their outdoor tiki bars and listen to music while you rest.

For the serious riders there are a number of bike clubs you can join and ride as a group.  Whether you are new to cycling or an old pro, there is a ride just for you.
